Walking Buddy
Walk Buddy
Do you know someone who could benefit from the support of a Walk Buddy to get out and complete a short walk to enable them to be more mobile, confident walking outside and more independent.
Do they have a health condition that would benefit from going out for a short walk e.g. a cancer diagnosis, recently out of hospital or waiting for an operation, excess weight?
Are they housebound or isolated?
Are they not able to access any group exercise – do they have low confidence, lack motivation or are frail?
The Scheme can link the resident with a local person who will meet with them to go for a short walk, following their care plan to build confidence and help improve their health and wellbeing.
Referral through health professionals, Social Prescribers and directly to Debra Aitken.
Alternatively, would you be willing to volunteer?
